Default i can recommend Village Canvas in Meredith

Bev (father) and Bev (son) are nice people and they did a great job on canvas for me. Price was reasonable, too. They are out behind the Jackson Star shopping center on rt 104..

Default Village Canvas Info

Check under "Lake Links" on the Winnipesaukee.com home page. Look in "boating". There is a link to Village Canvas in Meredith.

Default Canvas Guys

Try Tom Sullivan at the Canvas Guys on Rte 11b in Gilford across from Daves Motorboat Shoppe. He just remade my full camper canvas and he made a matching custom cover for my drop-in hatch A/C unit. Their work is outstanding and very reasonablely priced.

Who is Ralph and why are you appologizing to him? Although the neva or never might show that you are angry with whoever Ralph is. What does your post have to do with canvas?

Back to the topic, like Aquadeziac, I have had very good experiences with The Canvas Guys in Gilford.

Thumbs up

Village Canvas in Meredith - the treated the boat like it was their own - very professional, nice, neat and quick. Gave them the boat on our way out of town on Sunday picked it up on our way back in the following Friday.

Default Village Canvas

Village Canvas is the way to go. My family has had covers for 2 different boats made by them. Both Covers with stood the test of time and lasted 15+ years and I can only assume that they are both in use, as long as the new owners remember to put them on. On another note, I also went to Village Canvas last year and they where very help full in poping some new snaps onto a cover of a Third boat, which hopefully this summer if all goes as planned will be headed to Village Canvas to have its current cover modified.

Now, if you don't go to Village Canvas just make sure where ever you go that they use a High Grade material like Sunbrella to make the cover. Sunbrella is probably the most widely known material, however there are a few alternatives.

Mike,

Whats the matter, that blue tarp over it now not doing the trick? I drive by your house a few times a week and see it, I am in Dover too. I actually had a 215 Explorer with a 225 opti on it, fun boat.

Try Just Right Awnings here in Dover, 740-8416. They just did some custom modifications to our new pontoon cover and it looks great. They are off route 9 on Industrial Park Drive. Rochester Sports Center uses them for most of their work.

We went with a half enclosure on the back (factory) and had them modify the factory mooring cover to turn in into a "tonneau" type cover for the front half of the boat so that we could still keep it weather tight. When I go back to the dealer on Thursday I can try to grab some pictures of their work if you are interested.

Default village canvas

I'm pretty sure (at least locally) that they will actually come to your boat at your place and measure the whole thing out and then deliver it.

Default Mike's Custom Canvas

Looks like you got enough recommendations, but wanted to plug the guy I used, his name is Mike Pelletier, kanvas@aol.com, (603) 529-3230. I'm going to be having him make me a mooring cover for my boat this spring, and last fall he did a custom enclosure that goes on my bimini top (clear plastic on 3 sides), plus he worked on the foam in one of the seats to make it firmer. The enclosure came out great, he put in touches that I didn't expect and was very reasonably priced.

I think he's in Weare, NH (I followed directions to drop off the boat and completely forgot where I ended up...).

I was clueless myself, until I went backwards in the thread and my supposition is that it was a reply to this post:

And I must confess that if I were swinging in a hammock under a palm tree on the beach in Florida, I'd be hard pressed to consider heading north right now myself!
