Default Need recommendation - HVAC contractor

Hi, all...

I'm looking for a reputable, reasonable local contractor to fix a problem with our hydro-air heating system.

Our system has a boiler which provides hot water baseboard heat to the lower level and first floor. But it also sends hot water up into a small attic crawl space, into an air handler (heat exchanger). Out of this comes a bunch of ductwork, dampers, etc. that provide hot air heat to the second floor via two separate zones.

The problem is somewhere up in the attic, since raising the thermostat setting on either of the two zones that are served by hot air does not result in a call for heat reaching the boiler.

So I need someone who is familiar with these systems and their controls and wiring, and doesn't mind climbing up through an ceiling hatch and worming their way around a very tight workspace.

We're at the end of Moultonboro Neck. Anyone come to mind?

Thanks in advance!

I have used Bob Maher (spelling) from AM-HVAC in Moultonborough many times for HVAC work. Whether this type of system is something he has knowledge of I do not know, but it would be worth calling and asking him.
AM-HVAC 603 476 8933 Good luck.

Default Is it cold enough outside?

Most of the high efficiency Hydro Air systems are equipped with "Weather Responsive" control system and one aspect of it is seasonal shut down. That's where heat zones are shut down, while the domestic hot water is still active. The set point is usually 65 degrees outside, but all are adjustable, in some systems you need three consecutive day below that point before the pumps are turned back on.

I know what you're thinking... What does a bottom dweller know about HVAC controls? Actually, a lot, it's how I keep my hydro suit regulated... (just kidding), I'm an Heating Specialists when I'm not diving and just trying to save you an expensive service call. However, a good, knowable, local heat tec is always good to have available and sure would be nice to find out now if he knows how to work on your system.
