Default Moultonborough store opening again?

I noticed a sign at the Moultonborough store saying opening soon. Is it a new owner? Will they have gasoline again?

Default Best of luck

Hopefully they do well, it is literally 5 minutes or less walking from my house.

Good luck new operators!

I am having trouble seeing the location. I do not know Townsends. Where is it in relation to the neck road?

The store is on Route 25 a few doors west of the Old Country Store and Moultonborough Public Safety building.

If you stay on 25 after passing the Neck Rd on your right from Meredith, what was Townsends (and before that Moultonborough Emporium) is approx 3 miles down on the left.

It sounds like Townsends has some good plans.......I hope something happens with Fullers this summer. I don't understand what happened with them. They seemed to have tons of customers.

This does not add up based on my observations.

Looks more like a tractor trailer, trailer graveyard

I hope that they open a store just like Fullers on the old Fullers site!!! I do not have any idea why they closed as they did seem to do well in that location. It was an easy location to get into trailing a boat etc. Reasonable prices for gas, all kinds of the little things one was missing for auto or a meal or just whatever it seemed. Really nice people there too. I miss Fullers.

Well I hope the new management can get the gas prices at least competitive, if they do gas at all there now. Gas there was always convenient until the prices went through the roof...

I fully agree! IMO their gas prices were uncompetitive and worse, suggested that the prices inside were also not competitive. A few stops for some quick items proved this to me. Everyone expects to pay more at a C-store vs. a full service grocery, however, when your prices are high compared to your nearest competitors at Skelley's and Green's Corner its a recipe for failure.

A suggestion to them would be to decide if they wish to be in the gasoline business. If yes, they should get in line with competitors' pricing and sell gas every day to become a reliable dealer. If no, get rid of the pumps and sign so people won't be misled.

Learned today that Fred Fuller has no immediate plans to reopen any time soon.

Didn't I hear or read about a year ago he settled out of court on a sexual harrassment case? Am I thinking of the same person?

It appears that there is ongoing maintenance at Fullers but I will defer to those more in the know.

Well, I have been to the store that opened awhile back - next to Clyde Foss Insurance.

I am not impressed. The original Emporium had the best layout - with cash register on left - and deli on left - with picknic tables to right.

The next owner spent a lot of money redoing store - and failed.

These new owners don't seem to have abiltity to make any changes.

And on my few visits to store - the owners don't seem to have any retail social skills. I'll leave it at that. The store is not user friendly. Not presently anyway.
