Default Bad accident in Gilford

There was a terrible accident on Rt. 11 in Gilford this afternoon, near Belknap Point. It looked like some kind of septic (or chemical) truck was on its side, and also looked like the remains of some other vehicle on the side of the road, covered in blue tarps. Not sure what happened, but I had heard that two people were killed. There were a lot of local and State police, Highway Enforcement, fire, EMT and even Marine Patrol (directing traffic) on the scene. Not good at all.

Default Bad News

From a story on the WMUR web site, unfortunately two young men lost their lives in this accident. No mention of their names or what town they were from.

It was indeed a very bad accident. Last night at 11:30 the road was still closed. My prayers are with the families of all involved. So tragic.

The road is closed again today, I assume for accident reconstruction. One Laconia HS junior lost his life, no word yet on who the second victim was. My wife, who drove by after 6 p.m. last night couldn't believe the damage. Even the tanker truck looks horrible.

Our sympathies to the family and friends of those involved.

Very terrible accident indeed. One junior from LHS and one junior from GHS. GHS boy was a nice kid. Don't know the LHS student.

A friend of the students that died in the accident has posted a very nice tribute to the young men that died.

There are also several other videos in the "related links" section.
