Lake Winnipesaukee GPS?
Can anyone recommend a GPS unit for the Big Lake? Do you know what GPS the Marine Patrol uses?? Thanks!

The latest MP boats were supposed to be fitted with Raymarine gear, but I can't say for sure that's what they have, having never been aboard one.
I'm partial to my Standard Horizon. The CP180I is pretty popular. |

Standard
I'd go Standard Horizon. I'd also jump on a CP180 or 180i as quick as possible. Both take C-Map chips on which you can get the Bizer lake map. The 'i' has an internal antenna for a dashboard mount, or if you want to flush mount, the non-'i' comes with an external antenna. (you can also dash mount the non-'i'.
I say as quick as possible as both have been discontinued in favor of the CP190. CP190 has an internal antenna, but can also take an external antenna, and it has built-in maps, but not of Lake Winni. The 190 is more expensive (by about $100) and if you want the external antenna you have to buy that too. You can get a CP180 from Anchor Express. They no longer list the CP180i on their website, but I just returned one, so they might have some in stock, it would be worth a call (I swapped for a regular 180). https://www.anchorexpress.com/ for about $380, which is the cheapest I found. ...Jim |
