Default Coe House?

What do you think about the Coe House in Center Harbor? We are thinking of trying dinner there next weekend, and not sure what to expect.

We ate there several weeks ago and enjoyed a wonderful meal. The food was excellent and the service was quick and friendly.
What more could you ask for ?

We love Canoe too, and so do our kids...as we are kid-less next weekend thought we'd try something different. Just hoping Coe House is worth it!

The Coe House is much better than it was last year. The menu is larger with some lighter fare. The staff tries and the manager does seem to care. We have had some glitches, but all in all worth a visit. The ambience is nicer than Canoe, particularly the front room. Not inexpensive.

I was a fan of the Coe House BUT one too many glitches on too many occasions has turned us off. Have not been back in over a year and doubt we will return again.

Question

We have been huge fans of the Coe House, but when we visited just after it opened for the season in May of this year were hugely disappointed. All of our favorite dishes were gone, and the service was incredibly slow. Perhaps it has improved over the course of the summer. I checked the website but it indicates that the menu is being updated, so maybe there is hope. We have not been back this summer, but may try one more time this month. Will be interested in hearing from those who have been there within the last month.

Had dinner at The Coe House last Saturday night after a few years absence. All four of us enjoyed our entrees and the service was terrific. I plan on going back!

Default Olde timer's report

Having had many dinners at the Coe House I believe it is worth a trip for any first timer. It is an icon of Centre Harbor with its associated history. If you enjoy a great meal and history, you won't be denied either. I would compare it to the Corner House in Center Sandwich. I have never been disappointed by the staff or food in either place. I know others have related differing opinions, but I have always tried to give a good accounting of my experiences and do recommend the Coe House. Enjoy.
