Anyone have the inside track on when the monsoon season is going to end?

All the local ...... http://www.winnipesaukee.com/index.p...d=localweather ..... weather info.

Outdoor pickleball has been rained out for the last week ...... another good reason why Club Moultonborough with its' three indoor pickleball court gymnasium needs to be happening! ..... ..... plus the Lake Winnipesaukee surface water temperature is about 67-degrees, today, on June 28, 2023. Is too cold for deep water swimming without a wetsuit swim top vest and flotation float belt. A 45-year old man drowned, two days ago, in Lake Winnisquam.

I have a boat listed for sale but with the weather I am not getting a lot of interest. Maybe I should include in the description the fact that it has a windshield wiper to generate more responses?

Maybe..."Buy this boat now and the Lake will come to you".

Many folks in Wolfeboro Back Bay can’t get their boats out now due to the fact that they can’t get under the bridge due to high water levels…and it’s not getting any better.

Then again, it’s constantly raining so no one can go out, no matter where they are.

It's like letting air out of the tires t get a truck under thje bridge. Pull the plug and let a few inches of water in.

Package it with the boat house and call me for an offer. I bet I can sell it (again) three times before Labor Day.

Getting out, under that Wolfeboro, Main St., low clearance Back Bay tunnel with a water vessel is so totally doable when you paddle a stand-up paddle board, and either kneel or lay down on the board.

Paddle boarding from Wolfeboro-Back Bay out to Wolfeboro Bay ...... www.facebook.com/FullMoonPaddleboard ...... rain or shine ..... high water or low water ..... creating group paddle board, paddle activity for many locals ..... so much group fun!

Figuring approx. 17 million gallons per one inch of water over one sq. mile; Including Paugus Bay, the Lake has increased by approx. 7,242,000,000 gallons, if you assume a 6" rise.

I think it'll rise another inch or two more as the run-off continues.

On a rainy day like this, I didn't have anything better to do.

I had a business idea where myself, and several other "big boys" would stand on the bridge on Main Street, Wolfeboro...and offer to get on board each boat so that it would go under the bridge easily.

Then we'd get off said boat, and return to our perch. Lather, rinse, repeat.

I'm thinking $10 per chubby guy would be fair.

Default No complaints with the rain this year......

I'm in the midst of putting in a new lawn, so I guess I am one of the few who enjoys having these daily showers.

It's already saved me a ton of time as I don't have to move the sprinkler all around the yard each day as long as these daily showers continue!

By the way, best grass seed out there is LS-2 (Lawn Seed 2) and it's available at Cameron's on Rte. 11 in Farmington (and likely elsewhere also). Germinates in five days.

I hope you have no fertilizer near the shore. Did you know you can buy blueberry sod? Much friendlier to the lake. I would certainly not brag about starting a shoreside lawn.

You do realize climate change is about long term changes in temperature and weather patterns, right? Whether it is natural or manmade is the real debate, not whether or not it is happening.

No trying to go down a rabbit hole and won't follow up in any way - except to say I am glad to be sitting by the lake and looking forward to some sunny days!

This stretch of rain reminds me of when I was a kid in the 70s, we'd get these long stretches of rain that as a kid would drive me nuts. Glad to see the sun today.

After yesterday's rain, I am taking on a 5th partner. We gather on the bridge at 9 AM each day. You can't miss us.

Long range weather patterns are greatly influenced by the Pacific ocean temperatures and NOAA is predicting a possibly very strong El Nino for the rest of this year. Because the Pacific is so large (twice the size of the Atlantic) it has a major influence on both the trade wind on the equator and the northern and southern jet streams, and thus out long term weather. Right now the El Nino has created a pronounced northerly rise in the jet stream over most of North America with a large dip over the northeast. This peculiar jet stream curve is the reason for the extreme heat affecting the south and west, the Canadian Spring drought and forest fires, and the stalled low pressure area over the northeast that has been keeping us in a rainy pattern.

Of course climate changes over the millennia. We are all waiting for the now overdue ice age predicted in the 1970s. lol

They realized that the cooling data was coming from sulfur dioxide and particulate being released into the atmosphere.

Be careful boating this weekend. We have a full pool and wakes are causing debris to float back into the lake.

A neighbor is having his dock rebuilt, so it was not surprising to pull a 6x8x24" beam from offshore today.

Drove by Winnisquam and it looked very high, water touching the bottom of a lot of docks.

Default lake level

So I don't know if I missed it but do any of you remember in '98 the lake level was so high at this time of year it was closed to boat traffic over wake speed for about 6 weeks? If this keeps up we could face a repeat.

Wouldn’t surprise me after seeing yesterday’s early wakeboarding

I don’t think it was 6 weeks but it was a month or more. the state ended it before the 4th because it didn’t want to hurt holiday weekend tourism

Forecast is for a better than 50% chance of rain almost every day through Thursday of NEXT week, 7/13. The forecast ends there, so it could continue beyond that.

Just finished placing rocks on the neighbors dock boards and tying off the kayaks. It’s a pole dock and it’s floating

The wakes created by the floating condos is brutal. I have about 300 lbs. of rock on my dock boards.

Use trash barrels....fill with water using 5 gallon pail. When done, just dump the water over the side. Saves lots of time moving rocks. 30 gallon trash barrel full of water weighs up to 250 pounds each barrel.

Really,…. not raining here…must be a small local cell shouldn’t last long at all…

Just looked at the radar and there is a small cell over Winnisquam but shouldn’t affect winni other than a few sprinkles. After that looks like clear sailing to me…

It's pouring here at Sandy Point right now. Also poured like crazy around 4:30 am. My window boxes are drowning!

Because of the bad weather the storm has been cancelled.

I'm new to Margaritas. What's a "Patron Margarita"? Served to "Patrons" at the Welch Island Tiki Bar?

Patron is a brand of tequila. Tequila is the alcohol component of margaritas.

Well it is served to Patrons at the tiki bar, but as newbie has stated above it is a brand of very smooth….dangerously smooth tequila.

I have to resort to wine while staining the back deck while my wife pressure washes the front.
