Does anyone know what they are building by the yellow building complex at the Alton traffic circle? Hope it's something good!

I wonder what Hannaford will do with the extra space? They can't keep what they have now fully stocked.

Maybe they can move a lot of the stuff they have in those dam narrow isles and the specials at the end of each isle.

rumor has it
When I first heard the MVSB was going into their own building, I also heard that Hannaford would take over their space. It would not be used for added retail space, only for back store storage.

I have it from a good authority that the Hannafords in Alton is one of the busiest Hannafords in the state. After it was opened, it was realized that they could have made a bigger store and a larger parking lot. Even in the off-season (after Columbus Day, before Thanksgiving & the ski season), that parking lot is still crammed on a good day.
On another note, it seems that Fiddleheads isn't doing as well as we'd hoped. They've cut their hours down, so they're now open Thursday thru Sunday only. |

Nice job on the Alton Circle
I just want to say I feel the work down at Alton Circle was excellent. It was fairly fast, had minimal disruption and came out very good, again IMHO. With all the concern over the design I think it works quite well.
Congratulations to all that had a hand, job well done. |
