Sup
Can anyone tell me where to buy a stand up paddle board for a reasonable price? We live on the lake and have many water toys and don't want to spend a fortune. I would like to buy 2 - because it looks like fun to paddle with someone.
We would be using them in a cove so no reason for them to have any special features. But would appreciate any recommendations by people that have used or own one. Thank you! |

Dive Winnipesaukee in Wolfeboro
Check out Dive Winnipesaukee in Wolfeboro. They have many. Not sure of prices. There is also a paddle board rental place near by that may have some older boards they don't use.

I buy a lot from Sports and Marine Parafunalia in Gilford, over by Meadowbrook. Their prices are competitive and they know paddleboards. Plenty of room to check out the boards. The salesman John really seems to know what he's talking about. Give them a try.

We bought a version of an SUP from Wild Meadow Canoes in Center Harbor. It's an incredibly versatile water toy: http://www.liquidlogickayaks.com/versa.cfm
I know that on occasion they've had used ones for sale. They also rent these.

Just like canoes and kayaks, there is a wide variety of SUP board materials, sizes and shapes. Considerations include water conditions, paddler weight, paddler skill and planned use. And there is a wide range of prices.
We found that Parafunalia has an experienced SUP paddler on staff that can explain the different types. Without some knowledge you could easily make a mistake in buying a 1st board. http://www.parafunalia.com/ Another place to get educated is Kittery Trading Post. http://www.kitterytradingpost.com/ |
