Default Power

Our power is currently on in Alton Bay. However, it's flickered on/off a few times since around 1:30 pm

Default West Alton finally hit

After flickering again in the early evening, it went off here about 7:20 pm +/-. Running on generator now, NHEC says restoration probably won't be 'till morning.

Default Gilman's Corner out

A big tree is across the road on Gilman's Corner Rd. Judging by the size of it I think it won't be removed until tomorrow. What a mess of downed trees on 28A.

Metrocast still good here on this end of New Durham/Wolfeboro (Patriots not so much... you aren't missing much)

Not sure I've ever seen Merrymeeting as angry as today. I can't imagine what The Broads must be like, nor trying to go from/to any of the islands this weekend!

Default Power out from about 730-900.

Had a few flickers here and there and then out it went. Got the candles going, put some more wood in the woodstove, and wrapped myself up in a fleece snuggy thingee. Not too bad.

Power back on now, wind seems to be abating a little. Hopefully we will keep the power for the rest of the night. 18 degrees outside.

It must have been crazy out there! I made the mistake of walking my dog at Ellacoya and it was almost impossible to walk!! My dog even gave me that question mark look a couple times like she was saying, "Are you for real!".

I was watching it most of the day and just kept seeing mass amounts of spray being blown from the top of monstrous white caps!!

I thought about you going out to the island but said, "nah, he won''t go, that would be nuts"!!

Can't wait to read the story!!

Default .... is the heat back on yet?

...the best thing about going without electricity for about 8-hours on a 14-degree, windy day .... is that you really start to appreciate having working electricity.....like especially for running your propane or oil heat ..... heat ... did I say heat!!! .... plus running water for flushing the toilet is a nice amenity to have ... as well!

I thought the ride out to the island was pretty crazy... the ride back was a bit scary! But for the most part going around the south side of the island was protected...

Codeman - looking forward to hearing of your voyage!

Unfortunately I didn't take any video, but it was blowing harder than I've ever seen on the lake in 50+ years (coupled with the biting cold)!

p.s. the Eastern is being pulled this week, so we're down the the Alumacraft till ice-in...

This effects West Alton and Rattlesnake posted about 8:10 am:

Crews working overnight have reduced the number of members without power to approximately 1,400 at the time of this update. The largest outage is affecting approximately 1,200 members in Alton and Gilford in the Loon Cove area near Routes 11 and 11B. Here's a handy link that shows power outages and in some cases time to restore.

Ok so yesterday the power goes out in Bedford and then at 3 my power goes off in alton. I cant see my cameras and the nest says its offline. My question was is the cable out so that I can't see the cameras and the nest or did my brand new 20K generator not kick in. Drove me crazy last night so I get in the car and head up. The power and cable are still off and the generator did not kick in. Open the hood of the generator and it was shut off. Err. I keep the house at 50 so when I got there is am it was 37 inside. Power came on about 10 this am.
