Default Looking for Rattlesnake Island ice conditions.

We are looking to head out to our camp on Rattlesnake Island for our first winter adventure. We are not too familiar with the lake in the winter. Just wondering if anyone has any ice reports out to the access road from the association lot or any advice on getting out to the Broads side of the island.
Thanks

Lots of slush yesterday, going out to the broads side may be a little sketchy at the moment especially if your near the North Western tip.

I'd wait a week

how was it on the west side out by the peninsula? and how do you get out there? we've never been on the lake in the winter, and i'm a little hesitant to venture out...

Did I see sled tracks on Snake eyes yesterday or was it wishful thinking?

We thought we saw tracks too. Can't wait to head out to the island, just want to be sure the ice is safe.

I am going out this weekend to my camp on Welch. If I have a chance I will take my sled over to Rattlesnake and drill a couple holes on the way and around Rattlesnake for an ice thickness report for you all.

Stay tuned!

My husband made it out to our camp on Rattlesnake today. This was his first winter trip out. He left from the association lot and measured the ice along the way all the way out to the Broads side. He said the ice measured 13"-14" everywhere going out to the island and on the Broads side. He also said it was very slushy on the western peak.
Our camp deck roof has about 20" of snow on it.
