Default Yacht club options??

Just bought a Live aboard that I am hoping to utilize this upcoming season. I know I can get a few different slips. But I am seriously considering a Club setting, where I can have a few more amenities. Anyone have opinions on the various options in the Meredith Laconia or Gilford area? The boat is a 30ft, with a 10' Beam.

I know people who slip at Mountainview Yacht Club in Gilford and really like it. Not sure if they have any open slips though...

Good luck with your new boat!

Meredith Yacht Club .....$42,900 for this slip

...and just a short walk to the bank and the movie theatre...... ooopsie .....it's two feet too short at 28' x 10'.....maybe the yacht club board of directors would let you squeeze in a 30'er if it's just the bow pulpit, or something?

Is your new boat a 30' sailboat?

Slips are at a premium and there is a waiting list everywhere. This usually means the rent starts to increase year over year.

I have always been able to get rental slips at Gilford Yacht Club. There is one for sale at present as well.

Most yacth clubs don't send their paper work out till the frist of the year. They will not know what slips are available till the paper work is returned.
Pick a club you like, call and get put on the list.

What Ms Molly says is very true --- there is also the option that owners of slips will rent independently of the Marina (or management Co.)

Just looked and a 2016 40ft Slip is open in the forum classifieds at Gilford YC
http://www.winnipesaukee.com/forums/...?do=ad&id=7339

Same is true for Mountain View (although none are listed at present) where we rent

It's too bad they don't have that all worked out sooner - makes it hard to plan for those looking for a slip.

Default Typical

Typically, people on the forum are quickly aWare of "private" deals. If you want to be at Spinnaker Cove, Mountain View, etc, etc I'd suggest you refine the area where you want to be and check the classifieds, Craig's List, and the Websites for the individual "clubs" if that's what you want.
Meredith, Laconia, Gilford is a very broad search without knowing if you want a beach, walk to 'X' or cruising to 'Y'.

For me, Gilford, Glendale, Silver Sands and MountainView all have the location I want for the cruising I do. I don't care so much for the facilities they offer.

You need to refine your search.

Places like Mountain View Yacht Club are excellent and have many rental slips available every year, from owners who do not use them. However, Irwin mannages MVYC and they want to be able to sell boats at the 2016 boats shows and offer guaranteed slips to those new boat owners. That is why, in many cases you have to wait until after the boat shows to fnd out if you can get a slip.
