Lake Winnipesaukee Water Quality Workshop

A partnership of local organizations, communities and state agencies will meet on January 5, 1:00 pm to discuss water quality analyses for Meredith, Paugus and Sanders bays in Lake Winnipesaukee and strategies to ensure they maintain and improve their current health. The three bays are included in Phase I of the Lake Winnipesaukee Watershed Management Plan (LWWMP), which includes the towns of Meredith, Gilford, and the city of Laconia. Ultimately, we hope to replicate this process throughout the entire Winnipesaukee Watershed as a comprehensive watershed plan is developed.

Please join us on January 5 at the Meredith Community Center to learn more about the concepts being used to identify water quality trends and to promote best management practices that will help protect and preserve lace Lake Winnipesaukee for current and future generations. In the event of poor weather on January 5, the meeting will be postponed until January 7, 1 pm, Humiston Building 1st Floor Conference Room, 103 Main Street, Meredith.

All are encouraged to attend. For additional information please contact: Erica Anderson, Lakes Region Planning Commission, eanderson@lakesrpc.org or 279-8171. Funding for the first phase of the LWWMP comes from several sources, including section 319 of the Clean Water Act, administered by the NH Department of Environmental Services.
