They were made in production from 1978 to 1992, the one in the video is an all original 1989 Tomcat

1978-1984 were 50hp models and 1985-1992 were 60hp. theres alot more Changes but they are over the years and im not going to get into it now LOL.

They use to sell them at Thurston's Marina at the weirs, I am positive there must be many bikes laying around trashed, Im on a search to find them before they get to bad, and even then i would still take it. Let me know if you guys have any info on locations of these, OR if there are any other wetbikers on the lake. I know of a few but havent see them in a couple years

Default No Wake Zone

Looked Cold!

I couldn't help but notice the wake violation in the "No Wake" zone of the Weirs Channel!

Default Meredith boat salvage yard

I can't recall the name, I would check the salvage yard and see if they have any.

Craigslist is another place to find stuff.

I think I rmember seeing one in the back of the marina at Minge Cove. I would give them a call.

I rode my first one around 1980-82. I had a hard time getting it up on plane. For those that have never road one its nothing like a PWC. You sit in the water and need balance almost like trying to water start on a slalom ski. Takes a little practice. Remounting and starting again when I was learning became a scary situation. I was at a small lake in Goffstown NH which was actually a river that had a dam. I got pretty close to the dam from the water flow before finally getting back up and away from danger. Yikes! That was a little scary. Once you are up I thought it sort of rides like a cross between a jet ski and a motorcycle.

Can those things take any decent wake? It looks like that ski would catch and flip you over the bars.

Default Wetbikes

I rode one in the late 70's. They were all the rage because James Bond had ridden one in a movie. Once you plane off, waves hitting the front ski are not too much of an issue, although you could bury the ski if a big enough wave hit you. At the time, a big negative was boater curiosity. While riding I was approached very closely by a couple of boats. Like most boaters at the time, they had no clue about the 150ft rule.

And they do now? Haha most boaters dont obey the safe passage law on the lake. This summer with my gopro i'm going to film All of it.

Yes they can You useally slow down or ride off the wake.

Wetbikes ride like a motorcycle when on plan, Has nothing in common with regular jetski's except they both are in the water.

Some pics"

How they plane:

A Taste of the tricks:

Interesting. In your pictures and videos you break the no-wake law, break the 150' rule and carry a passenger who is straddling the bow.

Don't get me wrong, the wetbiking looks like a lot of fun but I'm just wondering why you are so indignant about everyone else breaking the rules when you do it openly.

Every one is the lake police. .........

You do realize some of the pictures and videos were taken in other states and most are not myself, Very few times have I broken the law, but I don't put myself or others in danger like some of them boaters on the lake.

I don't break the safe passage law, it is NOT illegal to ride on the front ski, and I only broke the no wake rule because I couldnt feel my arms and hand. My safety comes before any rule.

Please everyone I don't want to hear about how I am breaking the law......

Yikes, back off. Looks like lots of different fun than with todays pwc's. If I'm not mistaken, I thought the one I rode was a Kawasaki. Did they make them also?

I'm going to be up at the lake this weekend if anyone wants to stop in and say hi. just look for the truck with the big WETBIKE sticker on the back window across the street diagonal to Blazzin bills. Next to what used to be handy landing.

Where are the pedals? I don't see any pedals on the side to be pedalling? If it's called a bike, which is another name for a bicycle, then where's the pedals, Buddy-boy?

Maybe it should be called a wet-cycle and not a wet-bike since it has a two-stroke engine just like the Suzuki motorcycles from the 1980's?

No not cool....cold. When you got sprayed in the face it looked pretty damn cold. My son went in off the end of the dock 2 weeks ago with a 3mm wet suit on and he said it was freezing. Looks like a lot of fun though (in July and August). I could only watch about 2 minutes of it as I started getting motion sickness, lol

Fun stuff. After finishing opening the camp on Easter weekend my son couldn't resist dragging our old Kawasaki 300 stand up jet ski out and taking a spin. I was happy to just watch him. The water was about 48 degrees. It's a young man's game, especially at that time of year. Note snow still on Gunstock.

Here's a quick video of the action:

Anything with a motor, gas or electric that carries people needs to be registered. As soon as you put an electric motor on a canoe it needs to be registered.
I put the carries people part in or someone would hammer me on radio controlled boats and registrations.
