Default Home Beautiful in Belmont

http://www.home-beautiful.com/

They are on RT 3 on the left just after the Belknap Mall.

We have used them and were happy with the price and installation.
They have a "Bargin Outlet" that has nice carpets if your looking for smaller areas to carpet.

Long time business in the LR.

Default Home Beautiful

I second Home Beautiful recommendation. We are having new carpets installed by them in mid August. We used them twice previously when we lived in Laconia and were extremely pleased with the price and results both times.

They have an excellent selection to choose from and in my opinion an even better team of installers.

Default stay away from

Lowes and HD.
You generally will get a less quality carpet & pad and their installers are a bunch of hacks. Store does not pay them crap to do the work so the job generally reflects it.
Joe used to run New Floors by Design. Before he moved to the DC area they were the absolute best around.
IMHO Home beautiful does do ok work but they are or were very, very, pricy.
If you can get a good recommendation for an installer and buy your carpet you will do much better on price, or at least give it a look.
Good luck

I third the Home beautiful recommendation - they are great! They can be pricy but only because they carry a wide variety and some of the materials are expensive. Ask for Angela and just tell her what you want to spend. They have done almost 20,000 sqft of flooring for me over the last 7 years. I used them on my first project up here, tried someone else on my second project because they were a lot cheaper and after a disastrous install I went back to Home Beautiful and have been incredibly happy with them ever since!

Floor Show Carpet & Vinyl
388 Laconia Road, Tilton, NH 03276
(603) 524-2242

This store has independent installers (the last time I purchased carpet). They can provide a list of installers. It ain't rocket science. Just some specials tools and a good knee.

The quality of the carpet is important. Some of the new stuff is almost impervious to stains and spills.

One thing that many forget to check is how the seams line up. Some carpet is better then others with seam alignment.

Most carpet comes from 6' or 12' rolls. But there are some from a 15' roll. I have never seen roll wider then 15 feet.

Default Another alternative?

In MA, I've often found firefighters to be a good resource. Many of them do something on the side - is that true in NH as well? Several years ago I had a few rooms of carpet replaced by a firefighter (in MA) - it was great, he brought samples to my house, and did it on his days off - and he did a fabulous job. I've also had the roof replaced and wallpaper hung by firefighters. Just a thought.
