A new murder mystery book is out!
![]() A Little Murder, by Cindy Davis. The setting is Alton and Lake Winnipesaukee and is the first in a brand new mystery series set at Lake Winnipesaukee, NH! When a fishing trip hooks more than a few trout, ER nurse Angie Deacon and her husband find themselves unexpected suspects in a murder investigation. Who amongst the other five aboard Little One could have had a vendetta against the boat's owner—especially one strong enough to see Nolan Little dead? Will Angie live to regret her decision to aid Nolan's aggrieved wife once she learns the woman harbors secrets of her own? Untruths aren't the only cause for alarm as the lethal pieces of the puzzle start to fall into place, leaving Angie wondering just exactly how her husband fit into the deadly equation…and if she is next on the killer's list. Cindy will be in Alton at the Olde Bay Diner for a book signing event on Saturday, May 30th from 8:00 am - 12:00 pm |

It is a little ironic that a book would come out with the horrific tragedy in Wolfeboro. This is not a complaint just the timing !!!

I thought the same thing.......... I realize release dates and book signings are scheduled far in advance of the actual dates that they occur; however, it may be in good taste to reschedule the book signing. I do wish Ms. Davis all best success with her book, and thank you RG for letting us know about this new book featuring the Lake.

Are we being a bit too sensitive here? This is a book of fiction. There are many murders each day around the country and many books with murder in them. That's a lot of rescheduled book signings. No offense, I just thought it a bit odd to connect the two.

I agree. The timing is unfortunate but the local event and the book are totally unrelated and should remain that way. |

I just ordered the book on Amazon!!! The synopsis was enough to pique my interest, add to that the setting on Lake Winnipesaukee and I just found my first lakeside read for the summer. Thanks for the information.
P.S. My only complaint with the thread is the Title of the thread. Perhaps the webmaster might change it to "New Book" or something? It kind of jumps off the page right now. |

I don't think anybody should change their book signing, but I think you can understand why it affects people reading the title of the thread. |

Cindy Davis will be at the Innisfree Bookshop in Meredith for another book signing for A Little Murder on Saturday, June 6, 2009.
So far, four books are planned out with a possibility a fifth. Thanks for changing the name of the thread Don. It looks better. Also thank you for including the Amazon link to the book. RG |

I'm halfway through the book! So far so good. Lots of interesting references to the lake including Alton Bay and Rattlesnake Island, Wolfeboro etc. I'll let you know what I think when I'm done.

I am halfway through the book too. If I could just stay away from Winnipesaukee.com I would finish it!
![]() At first I was a little distracted by the little things that Cindy took artistic license with to make the book work. For example, I have never seen a boat anchor to fish, most of our fisher-people troll. I'm no longer distracted and am looking forward to finishing the book when we get back to the lake later. Cindy will be at the Olde Bay Diner for a book signing event tomorrow from 8:00 am - 12:00 pm. Anyone going? You can get a very delicious breakfast while you're there. The raisin toast is fantastic! |

Hi All,
I am finally a member of your great group. I spent some time reading your posts. I too am greatly saddened by the death of the woman in Wolfeboro. I hope her murder is solved quickly. Terrible that these things are happening more and more these days. We had a great time at the diner on Saturday. Weather was perfect. The people soooo friendly. Margaret and Joel (and their families) at the diner treated us like family. One of the best things of the day was meeting Celia. She's been a fabulous advocate for my book. Not to mention she's given a great idea for a new plot. We'll be going through Alton on the way to Meredith this coming weekend. I HAVE to try the raisin toast! Best, Cindy Davis |

RG, how did Cindy do at the Olde Bay Diner for her book signing on the 30th. Haven't heard anything since the 29th. I had hoped to be able to attend, but unexpected company arrived right at breakfast time with 5 kids. Sorry I missed it. Yip in more ways than one.
![]() Whoops, the thread from Cindy wasn't there when I posted. Must have been held up being a new member and all. Glad to hear that it all went well Last edited by EZ-Pass; 06-01-2009 at 05:55 PM. Reason: Updated the contents. |

I am taking this dictation from Celia as she does not have internet access at the lake right now.
It was a perfect morning and it was wonderful to meet Cindy and her husband. I am enjoying the first book so much I decided to pick up another one of her novels. We look forward to seeing Cindy at the forum fest on the Mount and I am confident everyone is going to enjoy meeting Cindy as well. RGal |

Thanks for the welcome. The diner staff were awesome. I believe Jean went home and e'd everyone she ever knew--and most of them came out to say hi.
FYI, I will be at Innisfree on Saturday from 2-4. Will stop at Olde Bay first though to try some of that raisin toast Celia raves about. Cindy |

I totally enjoyed A Little Murder! It is a fast paced book with lots of twists and turns. It is very cool to have local places that we know as part of the setting. The Olde Bay Diner, Georges and Downings to name a few.
I'm very glad that I picked up another book, which I am also enjoying very much. Already 1/3 of the way through it. Cindy, please tell me we don't have long to wait for the next book in the Lake Winnipesaukee series!!! |

I picked up Final Masquerade when I met Cindy at her Alton Bay book signing. I was enjoying A Little Murder so much that I took a chance on another title. It is not one in the Winnipesaukee series, but I am very much enjoying it at Lake Winnipesaukee!
![]() Paige witnesses her fiancé murdering his best friend, and has no choice but to run. Before she takes off, she takes a priceless coin and 3/4 of a million dollars in dirty mob money. Her fiancé locates her again and again, which is making for a very exciting read.Hopefully I can pick up her other titles at FF. Cindy you had better get busy writing, it's not going to take me long to catch up with you! ![]() |

Just want to jump in on this thread with a quick, very solid recommendation. Honestly, if you are looking for great, who dunnit, page turners, that you just can't put down, and read well into the night, you have to grab a couple of books by Harlen Coban.
He was recommended to me back in October. And now, 8 months later, I have read all 14 of his books. Perfect summer reading. Fast paced, and you just cannot put them down...I promise you. In the event anyone takes me up on this idea, be sure to start out with one of his "stand alone" novels. He wrote a 9 book series about a sports agent named Myron Bolitar, and they are all great...in order, or not in order. But you should start out with one of his stand alone books. "Tell No one", "The Woods", or "The Innocent". Great Reads. Trust me. He will become your favorite author qucikly. No question. |

This is perfect! I was just looking for another author whose books I can read.
As an FYI for everyone who likes to read, you might want to sign up at paperbackswap.com. You list your books and when someone wants a book, you get an email. You get one point for every book you mail to someone. You can then get books from other people using your points. It is one point for a book. I have been a member for a few years, and I have sendtand received many books. |

Hi all,
Your recommendation for Harlen Coben is a good one. I met him last year at the Sisters in Crime conference. He's great. So is Lee Child who was the keynote speaker the year before--such a hoot. To Rattlesnake Gal--I AM writing, every day. In spite of that I believe you'll catch up to me. Was in Poland, NY this past weekend. Lotsa rain, but fun anyway. Cindy AKA Cindy Davis |

I just ordered The Woods by Harlan Coben from paperback swap. I also am going to buy A Little Murder. I am so glad I found this thread! My favorite authors are Patricia Cornwell, Jonathan Kellerman, Faye Kellerman, John Sanford, and James Patterson. The only problem is that I have read all their books and they only usually have one new book out a year. I now have two new authors and I am thrilled!

Thank you Janet! Daniel X doesn't sound appealing to me. I love the Alex Cross series. I read Cross Country in a little over a day because I couldn't put it down. Have you read the Maximum series? I really enjoyed When the Wind Blows and the Lakehouse, but I started to read Maximum Ride, and just couldn't get into it.
