Eye glass frames & Lenses...
Any recommendations of a place with a good selection? I have the prescription. I'd go as far as Concord if the selection was of excellent quality.
I'm in Meredith. As always...Thanks in advance for any advice...

Stay away from Walmart in Gilford. My progressive lenses have never been right, and they wouldn’t stand behind them…said I needed to get used to them. Fast forward one year later…still not right.

Too bad there isn’t a Costco in the area. Great prices & a 30 day warranty.

In fact it takes about 1.5 to 1.75 hours to drive to their Nashua Store and I find it is very worthwhile to make that drive. I drove down there a couple of weeks ago to pick up a new set of glasses that cost me about $200. Note; I am a member. If you are not a member then you won't be able to use Costco. For what it's worth, I gave up using those overpriced eye glass stores years ago (including the ones in the Doctors offices). I found the mark ups to be unreasonably HUGE and a big ripoff of my hard earned money. |

Agree that Laconia Eye is the best around. Huge selection and wonderful people.

There is a new local eye glass business on RT25 in Moultonborough right across the street from th Bob House. I have not used them but neighbors have and have been very pleased. Might be worth a stop since they are close to Meredith.

My wife recently got new progressive lenses and frame at Laconia Eye. She is very pleased with the result.
I get only distance lenses, not progressive. I have always had good results at the Gilford Walmart including a pair that I picked up yesterday. Alan |

I just ordered sunglasses from Costco today. While the auto was getting new tires. Just noticed a sticker on the windshield that the tires are nitrogen filled.
Meaning I cannot regulate the pressure. Hmm. So far i love the new tires. ------------------------------------------------ I am a retired workaholic and continuing aquaholic |

You can add ambient air or release some of the nitrogen.

Currently, the only one in New Hampshire is in Nashua but could change as Costco is working on a potential new store location in Portsmouth at the Steeplegate Mall site. |

Eyeglass recommendation
I just picked up a new pair of glasses today at the optical shop associated with Laconia Eye and Laser Center, near Piche's Ski & Sport Shop.
The selection is very good, the service first-rate. |
