Default Mountain Hiker Rescue

I was recently hikeing on Mount Major and my wife fell and broke her leg on the top of the mountain. Since she could not walk we called 911. I would like to Thank the Alton Fire and rescue squad for their excellent service and professionalism. Not only were they there quickly but they made us feel at ease and safe through the entire ordeal ( at least one mile carry down through snow and then snowmobile to the ambulance) We also recived help from other hikers. We should all be proud to have of these fire fighters and on behalf of all my family I would like to thank all who helped

Default Welcome and Sorry

Kevin, Welcome to the Forum, and sorry about your wife's accident. I happened to hear the response by the Alton FD to your situation.

I must say that I am very happy with our FD and Ambulance Corp. They are all volunteers, but respond and help as soon as possible and in my opinion give outstanding and compassionate care.

Hope your wife's recovery is quick.
