Default Yacht Club Question

Hi All,
Would anyone happen to know anything about the existence of a yacht club on Welch Island? I'm not sure if it's in Gilford or Wolfeboro but I think the name of it might be Winter Harbor Yacht Club. We came across it in our travels last summer but I've been researching it over the winter and can't seem to find any information about it anywhere. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Welcome Couple of Lakers!
There is a Winter Harbor Yacht Club in Maine, none listed around here.
The Lake Links only contain marinas with web sites.
This list may be of assistance to you.
Good luck!

There is a yacht club on Welch Island - I think it's called Welch Island Yacht Club, but I'm not positive. It's in the cove on the west side of the island.

Thanks to you both for the helpful information. We found this yacht club while boating in that area last summer and thought it was a great location. However, I can't find any way to contact the principals about what is involved in joining and becoming members. There doesn't seem to be a phone listing or any info on the internet. I was hoping someone on here might have some inside info and could possibly shed some light. Thanks again...

Default Winter Harbor Yacht Club

Welcome Couple of Lakers!

The Winter Harbor Yacht Club moved from Winter Harbor and Built the club in the cove on the east shore of Welch Island in 1950s. We were members till the early 60s.

We have lost touch with the club but I still see boats with the distinctive blue and yellow burgee.

I don't know know any current members but as I recall the owner of the Great Escape is a past commodore of the club. He is pretty popular and is identified in local articles in the Weirs Times. Possibly you could check through some back issues and chase your dream that way.

Good luck!
