Maple Syrup Sap Houses
We are heading up to The Lake this weekend from Florida and would like to visit some operational sap houses in the Moultonborough / Tuftonboro area .Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. We are staying in Meredith at Church Landing. Also any recommendations for restaurants ?
Thanks in advance . Mike |

syrup
There is a little hut along rte 104. across the street from Wicwas (heading towards Meredith) Not sure but my guess is they are making it there. The last couple of weekends when i went by there was plenty of steam/smoke coming from it.

Maple ridge sugar house in loudon is open. They have been running and producing for a few weeks now, open mid week I believe and there is another one just down the street from them in loudon. Not a long drive from Meredith .

Try the Hunter sap house on Rt #171 in Tuftonboro. They have been in operation since the mid 1800's. The current sap house dates back to the 1920's. You can find them heading south on 171, past the main entrance to the castle, about mile or two on the right. They will be a 100 yds or so right after the road narrows and starts winding. There's no phone but if you see steam pouring out the roof vent, they're open.

Heritage Farm - Sanbornton
You might want Heritage Farm in Sanbornton(15A Parker Hill Rd). A little drive but if your into pancakes, a great place to go. We hit it on the way up when we get a chance. They have seasonal hours now. You will wait on a Saturday to get in. We get our syrup there, usually B/C grade. Just Google and find any info you want. They are having show & tells now.
Dave M We take exit #20 off of Rt93N, take Rt132 North into Sanbornton and take side roads to place. |
