Come and learn the history of this beloved New Hampshire icon and the story of the Nielsen family, who were caretakers of the Old Man for over 40 years. Speaker David Nielsen, the last official caretaker, shares his family's unique relationship with the Old Man of the Mountain, which collapsed overnight in May 2003. For David, the collapse meant: "...the oldest person in my family just died."

Located in NH’s Lakes Region it covers 72 square miles and is the largest lake in New Hampshire. The M/S Mount Washington is a 240 foot excursion cruise ship which has been a Lake Winnipesaukee tradition for more than 240 years. From Weirs Beach daily. Also serving Wolfeboro, Alton Bay, Meredith and Center Harbor.
