A telephoto shot of Manning Lake and Crystal Lake (Gilmanton) from an outlook of the White Trail on the SW slope of Mt Belknap. Parker Mt (Strafford) is in the right-center background, with Evans Mt a little to its right. The open area just below Manning Lake is an activity field for the Camp Bell facility at the Hidden Valley Scout Reservation - the fields showing at the upper left are on Halls Hill in Gilmanton. Manning Lake is one of the least-developed lakes in the Lakes Region, and further development is much restrained by an easement seriously restricting development held by the state on the more than 1/3 of the shoreline owned by the scouts.
