Here we see quite a few people on one of the lesser-traveled trails on Mt Major on a busy day in May. The Brook Trail ascends/descends the western slope of Mt Major and is the preferred trail for some hikers because it does not require nearly as much steep climbing on rugged ledge as the more popular Main Trail does going up the east slope. The Brook Trail is somewhat longer though. The views available along the Brook Trail are much more modest also. You should be able to count more than a dozen folks either ascending or descending - they are only about .2 mi from the summit at this spot. Photo taken from E. Quarry Mt, just to the west.
