A Castle property bridge across Shannon Brook, just above where it flows into Shannon pond - moved off its footings and pushed downstream up against some trees. It was originally placed on the right-hand side of the maple tree with the orange blaze on it, extending across the brook to a site near the lower left corner of the photo. This damage actually took place in last October's big storm, which was a little more powerful in its effect at the Castle than was the recent storm of this May. We had been waiting until the spring mud dried on the access road to the bridge before bringing equipment in to rebuild (and raise) the footings and re-position the bridge - perhaps a good thing, as the more recent flood might have moved it again.
