The Brook Road was Tom Plant's name for his private entrance road to his estate at what is now called Castle in the Clouds. It is now the road that visitors taking the Castle tour use as they drive up to the Castle. There is an observation deck which provides grand views over Winnipesaukee near the top end of the road - this photo was taken from near that deck. The mountain in the left background is Pine Mt, in Alton. The small mountain below Pine is Cedar Mt, which most folks who travel in the area have driven beneath, as they go up Route 11in West Alton - the cliffs beside the scenic turnoff near the Mt Major parking lot are just a few hundred yards north of Cedar Mt.
