I took this photo yesterday from the western slope of Piper Mt in Gilford. It appears that a very large section of Lake Winnisquam may be still unfrozen, or at least was unfrozen not too long ago - the recent drop in temperatures may have produced a thin layer of ice that hasn't yet had time to become covered with snow. Note Mt Cardigan and Firescrew Mt in the center background.
