Here on January 21, 2006 the ice is melting. It is over 50 degrees on this gorgeous day. We who are waiting for the ice to form have very mixed feelings about a day like today... so wonderful to be outside with warm temperatures, and discouraging at the same time that the ice that was there a few days ago is gone.
