During this year of unusually persistent rains the streams that flow on our mountainsides have often been at or near flood stage. Here is a photo that shows a stream on the east slope of Mt Belknap in full flow, with the water careening wildly down a steep slope. Under normal conditions many of these streams are usually dry or merely trickling along.
