The crystal-clear atmosphere yesterday lent itself well to an attempt at a panorama of the Castle grounds. Starting behind the red-roofed stable, the mountains include Roberts, Faraway, Oak Ridge, a small slice of Shaw, Middle and Turtleback. The small man-made pond is Shannon Pond. The extensive fields are remnants of the old Lee farming community that first settled the site in the 1790's; Tom Plant built a 9-hole golf course on them when he bought the property -essentially, the first tee was in his back yard.
