What a shame it is that this outstanding natural formation is no longer with us.



I feel a deep personal loss as a result of the April 2003 rockfall. It was such a great exrerience going to Franconia Notch and looking at the Old Man. It is such a shame that no matter what happens in the future to build a memorial to what was there, nothing will ever come close to the great natural structure that was the Old Man.



Those who will never see the Old Man will never realize how magnificant this formation was.
