Here's an easy view of Washington & Chocorua, NH's 2 most-iconic mountains. You don't need to hike to high peaks to get this view - just drive to the top of New Durham Ridge on any clear day (those are rare in summer). Drive on Rte 11 to the former Dot's Lunch (now Johnson's Seafood & Steak) in New Durham and take the road south at the 4-corner junction there. That's the New Durham Ridge Rd and a 2.25 mi drive up to the top of the ridge will lead to grand vistas north and west.
