This 40 ft "plunging falls" on Shannon Brook was once a favorite feature of the well-known Ossipee Park resort, which was a premier Lakes Region destination for many of the burgeoning numbers of tourists from America's east coast seeking to escape the summer heat and other unpleasantness of the cities in the late 19th century. This view is from the path running along the top of the gorge into which the falls drops.
