It's not houses that generate it! Seriously, I believe it goes into a sealed, self-composting unit approved in the building permits.

Ok, badly worded. I should have asked "what happens to the sewage generated by this household"?. But, thanks for the answer-any idea how much that type of system costs, how many of them are in use in the lakes region, are they restricted just to islands and how well do they work? We once had a toilet that "burned" the waste products to a dust that you could then dump from a collection container. The temperature required was so hot that we were afraid it would burn down our old fashioned wooden camp building. We would like to responsibly be able to dispose of the waste products from our house without that fear of fire; self composting is probably a good alternative if it is affordable. Sounds like a good project to research with google on a cool evening.
