Hey trfour! I had you in mind specifically when I took this picture. I loved the one you took of spindle a little while ago and wanted to take the same picture from a different vantage point. Glad to hear you like it!

Spindle Point holds very special memories for me as years ago I use to stay there in the 1960's with my uncle who still owns Spindle Point and the house, 100 yards before it. The picture you have taken and the others have taken are fantastic. One thing about the lighthouse is that, we weren't allowed to climb up the stairs inside the lighthouse from around the late 60's as they were deemed to be unsafe. Any repairs to the stairs were going to cost an absolute fortune as there were so many different local planning laws, heritage laws and presevation society laws and hurdles to get around and over, it easiest path was just to keep the door locked !

The memories are precious more so now as I live in Australia and have for the last 30+ years and have only been able to get back a few times.

In fact having spent most of my early childhood summer holidays at the lake in and around Gilford, Weirs and Meredith, the lake doesn't look to much different EXCEPT THE PRICE OF THE HOMES !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cheers from Oz

Kurt
