Big Ball Mt is just south of Mt Shaw. It has much open, ledgy ground which provides many fine views, including one of the best views of Dan Hole Pond. To the left are Mt Flagg, Canaan Mt, Dan Hole Mt, & a small piece of Sentinel Mt. Behind the pond, the large, rather isolated mt is Green Mt - a small piece of Ossipee Lake is seen to its left. It is believed by some geologists that Dan Hole Pond is filling what once was a volcanic vent.
