These 4 geese were basking in the sun & busily preening themselves when I showed up. At this moment they're warily paying close attention to me. Behind them is a smaller waterfowl (left of the birch reflection), a hooded merganser, one of the most handsome of our resident birds. Unfortunately, this photo does not represent him well.
