Whiteface Mountain, with its bright white ledges just below the summit, is probably one of the most easily recognized landmarks of the Lakes Region. If you get a reasonable distance from the shoreline, it can be seen from most spots on Winnipesaukee. It is some distance from the lake (25 mi from Diamond Island, for example), but here is a look at it from Whiteface Intervale, right it its own back yard.
