This view of the cliffs of Longstack is seen from a gravel pit a little SW of the mountain. This side of the mountain is part of the town of Alton, but the town line runs just about exactly along the cliff edge, so that most of the mountain is part of Wolfeboro. These cliffs are essentially vertical and are probably 100 ft high, making them an impressive sight if you are looking at Longstack from the west, from the summit of Mt Major, for example.
