Manning Lake is in Gilmanton. The mountain in the right background is Shannon Mt. Most of the land seen here is part of the Hidden Valley Boy Scout Reservation, which occupies most of the middle third of the Belknap Range. That's 3500 acres that the public has access to through a conservation easement held by the state.

I love this photo. My wife's family rented the Marshall Cottages across the lake for 30 years. I was lucky enough to spend a few weeks of several summers on this lake. What a place!
