Recent view north from New Durham Ridge - shows Mt Washington's summit somewhat obscured by a small cloud cap, but otherwise a very clear day, providing lots of detail to the scene. At left center, slightly in front of Washington, you see the rocky cone of Mt Chocorua, with the 3 Sisters peaks trailing off to the right. Slightly to the right of that are the much smaller peaks of Carter Ledge and Mt Blue. In front of Chocorua, etc, are several peaks of the Ossipee Range - l to r - Canaan (snowy peak of Mt Monroe on its right shoulder), Dan Hole Mt, Sentinel Mt & Knox Mt; still closer, running thru the center of the photo, are Mt Bet, Rattlesnake Mt & Mt Molly of New Durham (on the left flank of Molly you see snowcapped Mt Madison, to the right of Washington). Mt Bet is about 6.6 miles distant, while Washington is a little more than 60 miles away.
