Notice the cable that runs to the door hinges. A quick yank and the door flies away allowing the pilot to bailout.

How does that work. It appears to be mounted to the outside of the plane or are you saying that it is a emergency escape while on the land that rescue people pull it?

As I was shooting the image an older gentleman came up to me and explained, "See the cable that comes out of the fuselage? There is a handle inside that the pilot can yank that pulls the cable that pulls the pins out of the hinges". He went on to say that "As soon as the pins are pulled the door will be pulled away by the rushing air allowing the pilot quicker exit to bail out". Notice there are two cables, one attached to the top hinge and another that connects to the bottom one. You can see the bottom cable in front of the rivets in front of the door.
