The B-24's distinctive dual vertical stabilizers. My Uncle Steve was a waist gunner on the Liberator in Italy. He was only 19 years old. He hung out the side window at temps way below zero, with no protection, shooting at some other kid who was trying to kill him. It's no wonder that for his whole life it wasn't a subject he cared to discuss.
