A scene from the beginning of the trail up Mt Roberts at Castle in the Clouds. Looking out over the stable we see in the far left background the east slope of Turtleback Mt; at the right is a small prominence sometimes called Plant Hill, after Tom Plant, who built Castle in the Clouds and saw that hill from his bedroom window every morning when he awoke. In the middle, where the lower portion of Turtleback Mt meets Plant Hill, we can see the upper portion of the ledgy outcrop on Turtleback called Bald Knob that is one of the area's premier viewing sites across Winnipesaukee. The hill that occupies the left mid ground is the beginning of Oak Ridge, and one of the most easily-available good views to be had at the Castle property is from a cleared spot near the left side of the photo.
