With our recent experience of quickly alternating warm and cold fronts passing over the area, dark clouds and briefly heavy showers are quite common. Here we see a cold front advancing from the northwest past Mt Klem and heading over Mack Mt, seen at the right to the east of the pond. Round Pond is essentially a high-altitude bog, slightly deeper than most but exhibiting the characteristic bog plants along much of its shoreline, including bog laurel, buttonbush, leatherleaf, pale laurel, sweet gale and the insectivorous sundew as a few examples.
