Mack Ridge is a high (about the same elevation as Mt Major) ridge which runs N and S through the south central portion of the Belknap Range. It offers several fine view sites with views either to the east or the west. This view to the east shows its near-neighbor in the Belknaps, Straightback Mt at the front left. All the other peaks shown are some distance away, on the east side of Alton Bay. In the large version of the photo you can see the peaks labeled. Anyone who uses the Kings Highway to travel between S Wolfeboro and Middleton passes by the base of 3 of these mountains - Caverly, Perkins and Jesse. Folks who own homes on Merrymeeting Lake are surrounded by 4 of them, Bet, Molly, Jesse and Birch Ridge. If you look carefully at the top of Mt Jesse, you can make out the outline of a home built on the peak of that mountain.
