In the last few years the NW shoulder of Piper Mt has seen considerable development, usually of rather up-scale homes. Earlier I made several posts of a really large house that was, a few months ago, offered at a special auction for sale, with a minimum bid pegged at 5 million - no publicly acknowledged bid came close to that and no bid was publicly accepted. I don't know what may have happened in the background since. The home shown here is very close to that large mansion, a little further down the mountain slope - tho it is considerably smaller than that 17 room mansion, it is still a rather substantial structure. Photo taken yesterday from a ledgy outcrop high up on the western slope of Gunstock Mt.
