This fairly large falls is one of the main attractions on the 'waterfall trail' (called Brook Walk, a short trail that features 7 waterfalls in 1/2 mi.) at Castle in the Clouds. While flowing through a steep-sided mountain brook valley, it drops more than 30 ft over a wide, steeply slanted set of rough ledges and falls into a deep, narrow gorge. It makes a 90 degree left turn in the gorge and flows on through the gorge for another 100 yds before taking a near vertical drop of over 50 ft over Falls of Song, the largest falls in the area. This shot was taken down near the floor of the gorge, close to the base of the falls. You can see the upturned stump of a tree that fell down off the upper wall of the gorge into the brook several decades ago.
