This rather small, narrow opening to the cave at Devils Den is the only place where an adult must bend over to get through part of the cave - the rest of the cave is usually quite roomy, being very tall and comfortably wide - another exception is the last few feet at the exit hole through the roof of the cave, where it helps to be on the skinny side. The floor of the cave is probably the most difficult part of the cave to deal with (other folks may insist that it's the climb up the ladder at the end) - over thousands of years large chunks of the ceiling have collapsed onto the floor and can make for some tricky walking for a short distance - some of the photos posted by others online that can be accessed in the following posting will illustrate what I'm trying to say.

Hi dcr, neat shot of the opening of the cave. I have to say that where the turkey vultures nest across the street from us at home in MA, the cave entrance could be a twin.
