This property was purchased in 2009 by the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests - this summer (2010) they plan to construct trails on some of its 400+ acres to make it more easily available to the public. The trailheads will be on the Alton Mt Road and the Avery Hill Rd - there is a crude trail now from each site that leads to an abandoned blueberry pasture, which the Society will now keep open to preserve the fine views (this is only a small part of the view available from the pasture). Parking is most convenient from the Avery Hill Rd side right now, at an Alton Town Forest (Mike Burke) site.
