I consulted my Audubon Field guide and, although it doesn't look like a loon to me, the closest I'm finding is Common Loon - Winter Plumage #188

Anyone?

It may be a Great Blue Heron. Looks like he has a very long neck and the head appears to be the right shape. They are fairly common in our area near Minge Cove.
